The toque

There are guitar techniques specific to the flamenco genre such as rasgueado or alzapúa.

The flamenco guitar has its own characteristics, nuances in construction and interpretation that differentiate it from the classical Spanish guitar.

The guitarist who accompanies the singing is also called tocaor and his sound is called toque. Possibly the guitar is the flamenco expression that has most evolved musically and technically over time, reaching an exceptional level of virtuosity and its deserved international recognition. In a show, it is the guitarist who maintains the flamenco tension and the personality of each style that is interpreted. The guitarists have their moment of personal brilliance in short compositions interspersed between cante and cante that are called "falsetas".
