Flamenco styles

There are many styles, some solemn like the solea, sad like the seguiriya and others happy and festive like bulerías or tangos.

The variety of styles and forms of dances and songs show the immense artistic and musical richness of flamenco. Bulerías, tangos, alegrías, soleás, seguiriyas, fandangos or malagueñas are just some examples of the great tree of flamenco styles... Each one with its own characteristics where the rhythm or meter is fundamental and in which the interpreter imprints his personality. There are styles without a specific rhythm like the malagueñas, others with a 3x4 ternary rhythm like the verdiales, with a 2x4 rhythm like the tangos or a combination of both like the bulerías. Some styles are related to certain geographical areas or to their creators.
