Flamenco on stage: a journey through a century and a half of art in Madrid

The exhibition FLAMENCO Chipén covered 150 years of flamenco history in the capital, from the singing cafés of the 19th century to the creative effervescence of the 1990s. With more than 150 pieces, including posters, costumes and photographs, the event showed the traces of guitar makers, academies and emblematic tablaos such as Corral de la Morería. The Fiercest Flamenco | Flamenco de Leones - A tribute to the art of flamenco at its most passionate, with artists who combine strength, technique and tradition. This contemporary show pays tribute to the history of flamenco with a vibrant and captivating staging (Wednesdays through Sundays).

In recent months we have had the opportunity to visit some of the best tablaos in Madrid, experiencing first-hand a unique flamenco legacy. From the emblematic Corral de la Morería to the intimate Flamenco Cultural Centerto the intimate Centro Cultural Flamenco, passing through Las Carboneras, Las Tablas, Teatro Flamenco Madrid, Tablao de la Villa, La Quimerathe exquisite Flamenco de Leones and the only tablao in Madrid where the great Camarón de la Isla performed and where his friendship with Paco de Lucía was born: Torres Bermejas. Sara Baras

Sara Baras, born in San Fernando (Cádiz) in 1971, is a renowned bailaora and Spanish flamenco choreographer. With a unique style, she has brought flamenco to international stages and founded her own company, Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras. Her acclaimed shows include Juana la Loca, Mariana Pineda, Sombras, and La Pepa.
