Shopping in authentic stores

We tell you which are the flamenco stores in Madrid where the artists of our tablaos buy.

We have asked the flamenco artists of our tablaos where they buy their shoes, shawls and fans to tell you first hand where these accessories of great importance in a flamenco show come from. And, even if you don't intend to buy any of them, simply visiting one of these stores is a real experience, as they could be considered authentic museums due to their uniqueness and history.

Handcrafted shoes

The baile flamenco starts with the feet heeling on the floor and ends with the arms raised to caress the sky. A good shoe is essential for dancers to make a good display of all their art and talent. In Madrid, you can find handmade shoes at Gallardo Dance y Senovilla Shoes. At both you can even design your own shoe and Menkes who have had clients from Ava Gardner and Madonna to The Metropolitan Opera House in New York and Le Cirque Du Soleil.

When we asked one of the bailaoras of our tablaos for an ideal place to buy shawls and mantillas, her answer was Pertiñeza store in Madrid that has been in the world of traditional Spanish dance costumes for 25 years. Here you can find a variety of natural silk shawls hand embroidered with different motifs and in different colors. Undoubtedly, it is one of the key elements of the flamenco iconography and an indispensable complement of the bailaoras which has become today a fashion accessory.
