Paco de Lucía Commemorative Plaque
"Paco de Lucía (1947 - 2014), a genius among the geniuses of music and a great revolutionary of flamenco, lived here since he was a child". So reads the commemorative plaque to the great Spanish musician and composer considered the best flamenco guitarist in history and the most virtuoso of the instrument worldwide. When he was only fourteen years old, Paco entered the 1962 Jerez de la Frontera International Flamenco Art Competition with his brother Pepe. And while Pepe won the Antonio Chacón prize, Paco was awarded a prize created especially for him because of his extreme youth, his unusual skill in the art of toque and the deep feeling he knew how to bring out in his flamenco guitar. As a result of this award, the two brothers moved to this house at 17 Ilustración Street , Madrid. Madridwhich is still owned by the family.

Carmen Sevilla on Madrid's Walk of Fame
Did you know that Madrid has a Hollywood-style Walk of Fame? It is located on Martín de los Heros street, very close to Plaza de España, frequented by moviegoers as it is home to two cinemas that show auteur and original version films, Renoir and Golem, and the mythical bookstore specializing in cinema, Ocho y medio, the most important in the country. Among the 27 stars that form part of this Walk of Fame, and that pay tribute to the most representative directors, actors and actresses of the Spanish seventh art, is one dedicated to the beloved Carmen Sevillawho is part of the history of flamenco in our country.
