Café Ziryab
In Madrid's Acacias neighborhood, very close to Embajadores, you'll find Café Ziryab, an intimate flamenco venue with limited seating where the audience can enjoy dance, singing, and guitar performances just a few steps away from the performers.
Café Ziryab It opened its doors in 2015 with the goal of bringing flamenco to the public from a personal, authentic, and accessible perspective. Its concept revives the spirit of the “cafés cantantes” and the “tablao” as a gathering place for artists, enthusiasts, and those experiencing flamenco for the first time.
The program changes every week and brings together professional dancers, singers, and guitarists, along with various guest artists. This variety gives each performance its own unique character and allows the audience to discover different ways of interpreting and experiencing flamenco. The show lasts approximately 60 minutes and is presented in the “cuadro flamenco” format. Dance, song, and guitar interact on stage, leaving room for improvisation, rhythm, and the connection between the artists—fundamental elements of live flamenco.
One of the hallmarks of Café Ziryab is the closeness between the audience and the performers. The arrangement of the tables in front of the stage allows guests to enjoy a close-up view of the footwork, the expressiveness of the dance, and every nuance of the singing and guitar playing.
Admission includes one drink, and during the show, attendees can enhance the experience with a selection of tapas, cheeses, Iberian cured meats, ham, and other culinary offerings, accompanied by wines and a variety of beverages.
In addition to its regular programming, Café Ziryab organizes special series and performances that showcase both established artists and the next generation of flamenco performers.
The tablao also welcomes groups, agencies, companies, educational institutions, and private celebrations, offering the opportunity to organize experiences tailored to different types of visitors.
