Las Carboneras
In the most traditional area of the city, the Madrid de los Austrias, is the old palace of the Count of Miranda, in whose first floor shines the Tablao Las Carboneras.
Born with the determination to recover the cafés cantantes of years ago, Las Carboneras bets for an avant-garde image that puts the focus on the best artists of the current flamenco. Manuel Liñán, Pastora Galván, Jorge Pardo and Montse Cortés, prestigious names that have joined an enviable list of baile , stand out among the figures that have passed through it.
Las Carboneras organizes flamenco shows every night of the week, with two daily shows that serve to excite thanks to the work of two guitarists, two singers and three dancers, who are accompanied by a guest artist that changes every week or fortnight. Born in 2000, since its opening it has managed to bring together prestigious figures in a cadre of baile founded by partners and bailaoras Manuela Vega, Tacha and Ana Romero, who have managed to create a new approach to flamenco through their trajectory and research in different areas of dance. With the intention of promoting new talent in the genre, they launched the Baile Flamenco Las Carboneras Contest.
The one-hour show includes a drink and a tapa of the house. Those who want to enjoy the full experience can try the Tapas Menu that includes dishes such as Spanish omelette, Iberian ham, D.O. cheese or Galician tuna pie, with dessert and drinks included during dinner to choose from different references of wine, water, beer, sangria, soft drinks and juices.
In addition to hosting shows, Las Carboneras offers temporary exhibitions of important plastic artists, such as José Maldonado or Diego Agudo Pinilla, and it is common to find photographs, paintings, sketches and works of art by artists such as Candy Román, Ari Alexis or Juan Herrera.
