Tablao Flamenco
Las Tablas
Young talents and established artists impress the public who come to Las Tablas.
A tablao that proposes a careful programming to disseminate the art of flamenco in a room in which a multitude of initiatives are launched around the genre, always focusing on culture, art and pedagogy. With two sessions every day of the week, which is recognized as the largest flamenco stage in Madrid bets on a modern design that tries to achieve the greatest possible comfort for the public and artists.
Founded by the dancers Antonia Moya and Marisol Navarro more than 15 years ago, Las Tablas defends the responsibility and sensitivity of the artist, betting on new creations that are born thanks to the freedom and respect for the flamenco genre of its human team. It stands out for the use of theatrical technical resources that until now were not common in flamenco shows, such as the detailed use of lights, acoustics and staging, without forgetting the spontaneity and freshness that should reign in every tablao. The venue presents a careful, rigorous and avant-garde proposal a few steps from the Sabatini Gardens, the Royal Palace and the Temple of Debod.
Las Tablas has a maximum capacity of 85 people who can enjoy two daily sessions of a varied and quality proposal in which young people have a lot of weight. In an atmosphere of maximum respect for flamenco, it is possible to enjoy both temporary exhibitions and a carefully selected gastronomic offer that brings together some Spanish culinary gems, with top quality products, including a selection of Iberian sausages, a variety of toasts and an assortment of cheeses and pates. Those who so wish can also enjoy an hour-long introductory flamenco class that culminates in the performance of a short choreography in which fun is guaranteed.
