Every year, the Madrid town of Alcalá de Henares, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is the site of the World Heritage Site, a unique event in Europe where you can experience the medieval world like never before.

Alcalá de Henares is located only 20 km from Madrid-with easy access from the center by train, bus and car-is known worldwide for being the home of the writer Miguel de Cervantes, author of the novel Don Quixote de la Mancha and also for symbolizing the ideal city, the city of God (civitas Dei).

This year the Cervantino Market will be held from October 8 to 13. A great event that will take the historic center of Alcalá de Henares with a host of activities around the medieval world and the figure of Miguel de Cervantes, where the mythical characters of his works come to life.

It is a Festival of National Tourist Interest and, as such, does not disappoint anyone: parades, music, historical recreations, parades, knights' tournaments... These are some of the most popular activities within a program of shows for all audiences set in the Spanish Golden Age (XVI-XVII centuries), the era in which the writer from Alcalá was born and lived.

The 400,000 visitors that the Cervantino Market receives every year will be able to enjoy nearly 300 performances of music, theater and children's entertainment. As a novelty, this edition will host the historical recreation 'Alcalá Siglo XVI, Crisol de Grandeza', recreating life in the city during the period of greatest historical and cultural splendor of Alcalá de Henares.
