On your next visit to the tablaos flamencos of Madrid to enjoy some of the best flamenco, Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, you also have the opportunity to visit, during the day, many other World Heritage Sites made in Spain. To whet your appetite, today we tell you how to enjoy two other World Heritage Sites, in addition to the first one, flamenco, in the same day and just a few kilometers from the capital.

Located in the heart of the Sierra de Guadarrama, with its cobbled streets, its wonderful architecture, its privileged nature and a rich cultural offer... 47 km from Madrid -with easy access from the center by train, bus and car-, is a historic town with an inescapable charm, whose monuments exude an air of royalty, temperance and magnificence... This is San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the next place that will take your breath away.

Both San Lorenzo de El Escorial and its Monastery have been recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites since 1984. Standing in front of the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial imposes. Entering through its solemn gates feels like stepping through a portal to another era and even to another dimension. Its calm and serenity is contagious. During your visit the imperious need to keep silent arises so as not to miss any sensation when witnessing the 4,000 rooms that make up this building built between 1563 and 1584 by orders of King Philip II.

Be sure to go with time, because you will want to enjoy at your leisure this visit of approximately 2 hours through this monument composed of a Courtyard of Kings, a Basilica, a Library, a Pantheon of Kings, a Pantheon of Infants and two Palaces, among other spaces. At the end of the tour through the interior of the building, you can not miss a walk through its Historic Gardens which you will have observed from the windows of the monastery.

After the visit, it will be the perfect time to enjoy the third World Heritage Site, the Mediterranean diet. El Escorial is, precisely, one of the best places on the Region of Madrid to taste the Castilian stew, being the restaurant Charolés restaurant the one that has gained the best reputation since 1977.
