Stepping into the Teatro Flamenco Madrid is to immerse yourself in the world’s first theater dedicated to the genre. Since its opening in 2017, this theater has established itself as a landmark in the capital, offering a unique experience that combines the excitement and authenticity of flamenco. With daily performances, audiences enjoy shows where guitar, singing, and dance blend seamlessly, all under the artistic direction of Antonio Andrade and Úrsula Moreno. A place where tradition and modernity come together to offer an unparalleled experience.
What you didn't know about the famous Concierto de Aranjuez
The Concierto de Aranjuez, composed by Joaquín Rodrigo, is one of the most representative pieces of Spanish classical music. Its second movement, the Adagio, has inspired numerous artists, including Paco de Lucía, who performed it by blending flamenco and classical music. Aranjuez, with its Royal Palace and gardens—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—is the place that inspired this work. If you visit the city, don’t miss the opportunity to stroll through its gardens this fall while listening to the famous concerto, connecting history, music, and flamenco.
Flamenco wisdom
"Everyone knows what 'duende' is. There are days when I sing terribly—it sounds like I'm drunk. There are moments and days when everything goes perfectly, because if I knew what 'duende' was and when it comes, then I'd say, 'Let the 'duende' come now.'"
Manolo Caracol
Manolo Caracol (1909–1973) was one of the most influential flamenco singers. With his unmistakable voice and the intense emotion in his singing, he became a key figure in classical flamenco. His ability to convey the essence of duende made him immortal in the history of this art form.
